Some of the best players and teams get left out of the state tournament due to regional/sectional alignments. A player can make 1st-Team All-State without being at the state tournament and can also be considered for Player of the Year.

Does a player have to go to the state tourney to win the Player of the Year award? Or does a player have to go to states to earn 1st team all state?

Oak Glen wins AA Region 1 Championship

The championship game between Oak Glen and Ritchie County was a true championship game by both teams. Oak Glen was down 2 sets to none before winning the next 3. #4, the Dunlevy girl, was AMAZING under pressure. She is one to keep an eye on at the state tournaments next week.She plays hard and powerful anywhere on the court.
