Unstoppable hitters
The following five kids dominated the game when they were in the front row and could not be stopped. These girls have to be the hardest hitters in the state.
1. Erica Manor (Mussleman)
2. Paula Renteria (Preston County)
3. Aira Whiteman (Frankfort)
4. Lindsey Fritz (Greater Beckley)
5. Jazzmine Boyd (Phillip Barbour)
These girls can pound the ball.

Thoughts from the Championship game
I was impressed by the following players:
1. Lexy Kessel ( Ripley)- outstanding defensive player. Solid in all 3 matches.
2.Alannah Sheets ( Ripley)- good hands, good blocker and a much better hitter than I saw earlier in the year. She really stood out in the championship match.
3. Michelle Sayre (Ripley)- she was outstanding in the semi's and finals.
4. Brook Fritts ( Musselman)- she was a machine in the semi's and finals. Great passer.
5. Kayla Johns ( Musselman) total control of the offense all weekend, had 9 assists in the 5th game. Good defender.
6. Erica manor- ( Musselman)- in a defensive game that had more dinks and dunks than big hits she was the only player on the court who could put the ball on the floor on a regular basis. The last 2 points of the game everyone in the civic center knew where the ball was going and she jumped over the blocks for the kills.
On an side note Paula Renteria from Preston was outstanding as well. She has a great serve, jumps extremely well and is good defensively. A poster previously had said that she is the most recruitable player in the state other than Manor and I can see why.
West Virginia State Player of the Year
Just announced, the award goes to Erica Manor from Musselman high school. All your hard work has been recognized, good luck as you take your game to Liberty University.
