first 2010 WV Prep vball polls released

Sorry for the lack of coverage over the 2010 season.
WVRSN Sports is currently operated on a part-time basis and time has been very limited.
However we are looking at a major expansion of our network and a full-time sports news and information site.
When completed, expect more complete and regular updates on all sports, including volleyball.
As most who know me understand, I have been committed to volleyball for nearly 20 years.
As WVRSN grows into RSN Sports, I will continue to make volleyball coverage in WV a priority.

Again my apologies for the lack of polls and coverage.
Now they're up. Start your critical analysis now....

msac

thank you...we have been saying that for years but from what i understand is that the folks up north think that university and morgantown should get a chance also to come out of regionals and thats why they were changed taking parkersburg and p south out of that region. spring Valley Parkersburg and Cabell Midland all have very talented teams and is simply not right that one of them will have to stay home when far less talented teams will be making the trip

MSAC

PHS defeated Spring Valley and Cabell Midland to win the MSAC. It's too bad that all 3 teams are in the same region.

Polls

Who votes for these polls anyway? Given the amount of press coverage...or lack thereof....I don't see how this can be an accurate reflection of the entire state...assuming the press are the voters? If not the press...the coaches?

In any case, the next three weeks will be the real test...exciting time of the year!

Who votes these polls?

Who votes the polls? Always a good question.

Of course at the end of the polls on the stack there is an explanation of how the polls are tallied.

The WVRSN stack polls are generated utilizing input from state coaches, officials and reporters. They are also adjusted based upon score reports posted to the Wesbanco Scoreboard on the site.

At present that's the best you're going to get. There's no computer generated system. Coverage of the sport around the state is spotty at best.
Without the WVRSN Volleyball polls there would be nothing.
If you have a difference of opinion please feel free to submit your own poll input by Sunday to editor@wvrsn.com.
And by all means make sure your teams are posting scores to the Wesbanco Scoreboard.
