I think its funny how jealous people are of Ripley highs successful volleyball program. For this is what it seems from blues comment below....I agree with Sports Dad. Also, you would have to be crazy not to recognize the coach and players from this volleyball club. Their hard work in the off-season and throughout the season truely paid off in the end. Good job vikings

vballfan45, I'm not sure that it's jealousy from what blue said. I think they are simply stating that if it was not voted on, it was arbitrarily assigned. I say congrats for the honors, but I would think it would mean more if it were actually voted on. No jealousy here as I have no ties to any of it. I can see where someone would be concerned though if they know the process and it was circumvented and just given to someone. Congrats to Ripley on their accomplishments. I'm not sure of names, but #7 is a great player for them. She really knows how to find a hole and put the ball down from that middle hitters position.

MSAC Player & Coach of the Year

Perhaps the powers to be of the MSAC made the selections on their own. In my opinion, there is no doubt that Lexy Kessel was the best player in the MSAC. As for the coach, his team won the conference title and came within points of a state championship. I'm not even associated with Ripley, yet I believe both recipients were very deserving of the honors they received.

I don't know how Lexy Kessell was named player of the year or Coach Stalnaker was named Coach of the Year. The coaches were never asked to vote on either one of those catagories. Therefore they could not have been named as such.
