If anyone has the lists for all-state teams for this past season, please post. I will post the "A" list as it is the only one I have seen in the news. Also, will wvrsn being having an all-state team as they did last season?

Parents, fans, coaches and even the athletes themselves have to wonder how some of the all-tournament and post season teams are selected. It's that way in all sports, not just volleyball. I personally believe priority for selection in most cases is given to upper classmen and that some athletes receive recognition because of their name and for what they accomplished in previous seasons. Additionally, the coaches are limited in the number of athletes they can nominate. If the athletes aren't nominated for all-state by their coach they aren't considered for selection.
Volley_ scout I couldn't agree with you more!! What a joke, it's a shame that some of the girls that REALLY deserved to make first team didn't. A girl whose stats weren't near as good as some of the others made first team. I'd like to know who the "WV Sports Writers Association" is and what their criteria is for the All State Team. Clearly they haven't seen these girls play much to know who should be on this team. Please give me some answers!!
It is just not West Virginia Sportswriters that are involved, but also the Head Coaches from every school have the chance to be involved. I think that they did a very good job on both lists for first team so far. Just because you make it to the state tournament doesn't mean that you need 2 to 3 players on first teams. There are phenominal players in the state that don't have a supporting cast around them, so they always don't make the state tournament, or they are in a stacked region.

Here is an article from The Times Record (Roane County). It only contains the 1st-Team selections and a complete list is nowhere to be found yet. I heard AA was supposed to be released in the newspapers Friday and AAA Sunday.

The AA All state team is a joke.
There were only 4 girls from the all tournament team to get on the All state first team. Things don't seem to add up. There are girls that did not get one the all state team with amazing stats. Im not siding with anyone, but I've seen many games and I know of a few girls that deserve to be on first team all state. I'd like to know how and who the teams are picked by.
Well, 6 of the top 8 ranked teams in AA were all in Region I, and the state tournament is just 8 teams. How can you except to have the whole All-Tournament team on the All-State teams. Some of the best players in the state didn't make it to the tournament because the level of competition in their region. It'll be the same way for region IV in AAA.
