North Marion State Champs!!!

First off want to congratulate both teams, Huntington and North Marion, who gave the fans exactly what we all wanted. It was a battle back and forth the entire game. Whitney Bays showed why she is the states best player without a question and North showed how good they are once they get the game going north-south and at an up-tempo style. North had a very balanced attack tonight as Nicholson and Byard led the way with 13 each and everyone else chipped in anywhere fom 2-11 points. Byard was close to a triple double as she had 13 pts, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds... The biggest lead of the game was, I beleive 6, when Huntington went up 52-46 at one point. Big time step up for NM in Brittney Hall who had great minutes when she came in.

Parsons had yet another excellent game at the point guard position and played a tremendous floor game. She is probably the 2nd best PG in the state (Reynolds, WW) but has so much talent and another season to go!

Byard had a performance we all were waiting on and still has 2 years left as a husky!

Kaitlyn Antolock, Hailey Garrett, and Kelsey Wright all played very well too. Garrett stepped up, especially in the 1st round and semifinal games. Antolock held her own going up against Bays and Wright played pretty well too! North got solid bench play as well.

North finished the year with one loss and they return everyone on the team except for senior standout and all stater, Tiffany Nicholson.

For Huntington, of course Bays did what she was going to. North did hold he rin check pretty well as sshe had 13 or 15 points, but she def. showed how great of a player she is and is still only a junior and a topo 10 recruit in the nation.. which is awesome and great to see in the state of west virginia.

#33 had a great game as well, has a great mid range jump shot and can handle the ball very well fo her size, she had 23 points and was clutch in the fourth. The small guard, #3 played very well early and handled the North pressure very well.

Huntington also had a couple other very solid players, Sorry about not knowing all the names though!

Great game by both squads and Congratulations to the North Marion Huskies on a tremendous season!!

Congrats and yes it sounded like a great game. And great post giving props to both squads. Its amazing how young and talented both are. Any idea where Bays might be leaning toward?
