Way to go girls...
I believe both the Spirit and
I believe both the Spirit and Thunder are comprised of young ladies mostly from the southern part of WV. I've seen the Thunder play several times in years past and they usually are well coached and bring game. You would have to talk to somebody with more knowledge about the Spirit and the Reign teams, I'm sure I have seen them but, don't recall the players areas.
North does go by the Slashers in summer ball, I think the Slashers started before the current ladies became the Huskies, anyway, except for the coaches 3 weeks they are the "Slashers".
North did lose a game in Pittsburgh (not sure what the team was called), a couple weeks ago, (wouldn't put much into that, our summer coach usually rights the ship pretty fast) until the school year ends, some players on the team play other sports and have school activities, I'm sure our summer coach and Slashers credit the winning team and look forward to playing that team again.
thanks
thanks for the info. i heard the slashers lost to the hornets in a close one. i think i have seen the thunder before then if they are from down south. have not seen the reign. i guess the lady huskies playing next weekend in motown is not north marion then. i was interested in watching them.
i heard north marion lost a
i heard north marion lost a game to the hornets in pittsburgh a few weeks ago? how accurate is that and i saw a bracket for the nays tournament in morgantown on may 2nd say lady huskies. is that north or do they go by the slashers every where they go in the summer. also i see names like the wv reign, thunder, spirit, and others. where are these teams located and do anyone know the players names on those teams. just like to keep up with the progress of area players in the offseason.
Slashers
The North Marion Slashers are made up of Tiffany Nicholson, Jessica Parsons, Kaitlyn Antolock, Kelsi Wright, Brittany Hall, Mariah Byard, Courtney Swiger, Kenzie Mullenax, and Alexis Steele. We are currently playing U17 because of Tiffany Nicholson. As the summer season progresses and Nicholson begins working out with Fairmont State University we will switch back to playing U16.
The Slashers did lose to the WV Hornets at Robert Morris in a GBA Tournament two weeks ago by double digits. We were without our starting center Kaitlyn Antolock and she makes a huge difference in how we play and how we attack with our defensive pressure. The Hornets have a nice team made up of local players and coached by former WVU Standout Lester Rowe and he does a nice job with those young ladies. I am sure we will face them a couple more times this off season.
This is the third season for the Slashers and we have played some great teams and won. But we have lost a couple of games we should not have, thats basketball. Four of the teams we beat in the Deep South Classic only losses were to the Slashers. All four of those teams were extremely talented and well coached but the North girls went down to win this Tournament not just to compete and be seen by college coaches. I think that was a major factor in the outcome of those games.
I think we will be playing at the GBA at Robert Morris next weekend, followed by a couple of tournaments at Fairmont St. University.
